Horsing Around
For our first ever blog post, we’d thought we’d take it back to our first ever photoshoot. giddy-up!
It was a chilly January morning when we set out on our adventure. Two recent college grads, one the model and the other the photographer, along with a fledgling jewelry designer were off to the races. Well, the barn technically, not the races, but you get the idea. Located in the sunny Southern California hills, the stables that served as our backdrop fit the occasion perfectly. Arriving with the crisp, cool sunlight, we commenced our enterprise.

Seeing as the original pieces of Anabel Higgins, the Heritage Collection, are inspired by antique sporting medals and that riding is a family sport, it was the logical conclusion to introduce the line with an equestrian themed shoot. The look called for classic flair - riding pants and boots, of course - but also an iconic white button down and navy blazer. The perfect look befitting a proper equestrian.
horseplay, but make it glam
This simple look of everyday elegance created the ideal wardrobe for showing off the Heritage medals. Pendants were worn on chains and dangled from ribbons as brooches. The very definition of AHJ pieces, after all, is paramount quality paired with versatility. Comprised of 18K yellow gold, fine silver, and diamonds, the Heritage Collection never fails to create a statement, either will simple jeans and a t-shirt or a more elaborate evening look. The point of any Anabel Higgins piece is to make it your own - where it anyway you like - and don't forget to personalize it!

The shoot wen't off without a hitch, nary a neigh from the traditionally diva-status background models. Fun was had by all and we created some images that have proven to be timeless, just like the jewelry featured.
