From manicured backyards to that perfect floral arrangement, we love flowers!
From arrangements around the house to printed dresses, I will never live a day without flowers following me everywhere! If you know someone who's as passionate about perennials as I am, then this is the gift guide for you, dear friend. For all your blossoming wishes, follow along as we skip through so many delightful options!
sweet as honey
Bees are so essential to all that Mother Nature has to offer, so naturally you must get some gilded bumblers to top off your look! From time to time at AHJ, we debut a new queen or two to be added to your collection. Vintage gold bees typically set with diamonds and frequently featuring other colored stones are reset with an oversized 18K yellow gold and diamond bail. Perfect for any nature lover. These beauties aren't up on the site, so if you're interested, please contact us for our current selections.
Now, if you're headed outside then you must absolutely wear something to protect you from the sun. Fear not, for that's where the positively adorable and glamorous Sarah Bray comes in (seen in the first picture). Based out of Bermuda (toasty!), Sarah sells wonderful full-coverage sun hats that come with interchangeable ribbons to match your outfits and your moods. If you know anyone who enjoys taking walks through the neighborhood or spending their days out in the garden, this is a must.
root deep
Perhaps the person you're thinking of loves all things floral but has the blackest thumb you've ever seen? That's okay! John Derian sells these positively fabulous and whimsical paper flowers in antique vases. No sunshine or water required to keep these alive.
Passionate about forever continuing my education on botanicals, I find myself returning to the book Living Floral: Entertaining and Decorating with Flowers over and over again. Fascinating tidbits are interspersed with timeless photos of arrangements from some of the most stylish homes in the country. A must have.
flower power
Perhaps your just gaga for floral decor? I know I am! Then what about gifting something fabulous in its permanence? I suggest starting with some classic yet decidedly modern vases by Frances Palmer. So Grecian, yet totally wild. You don't even need flowers for them to be fantastic! Another option would be anything in the tole family. Over the years, I've amassed a decent collection of this vintage Italian metal. Shown above is a lemon candelabra someone gifted me a few years back - how cute is it sitting on our secret garden dining table? You never know where a vintage hunt will take you, so always keep your eyes peeled!
And, of course, one must always dress for the occasion! Floral print dresses will never go out of style. Ulla Johnson always has a bevy of options, like this one here. Dress them up, dress them down - it simply doesn't matter as long as you're having fun!
For this gift guide, we're focusing our charitable efforts on one of our favorite locales here at AHJ - The Huntington Library and Gardens. Take one trip, and you'll understand why! There are a multitude of ways to become involved with the Huntington; some of the many programs benefitted include school tours, lectures, and art history research. Please consider making a donation this holiday season!
Keep an eye out for our ongoing Gift Guides, happening now through Christmas Eve.
