Valentine Shine
Let’s indulge this valentine’s day - indulge ourselves and everyone around us.
This Valentine's day I'm using the wonderful Forget Me Not flower as my inspiration for adoration. This sweet and dainty bunch of petals symbolizes true and undying love, a connection that lasts throughout the ages. What a darling idea, to always be on someone beloved's mind, near or far. In fact, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been known to use varieties of the flower on multiple occasions, including a white varietal in Meghan's wedding bouquet. The more iconic blue blooms are frequently attributed in memorials to Princess Diana, as they were her favorite flower. Is there another flower bequeathed with so much symbolism in the art of love? I don't think so!
sweet treats
In honor of this tiny testament, I've created our latest charm at AHJ - the Sweet Heart. Delicious brushed yellow gold dotted with dollops of turquoise and diamond pavé, reminiscent of a single Forget Me Not. The perfect gift to remind someone that they mean something extra special to you. Who doesn't love indulging in romance? It is Valentine's Day, after all. But if you're jewelry quota is already filled for this holiday, there's always See's Candies. There's nothing that gets, well, just about anybody excited for the big day like a giant heart-shaped box of decadent chocolates. Of course, there are more "refined" chocolates out there to choose from (I like LA-based John Kelly), but there's something about a box of See's that simply nobody will ever turn down!
forget me not
Rember when we could see and spend time with our friends without a care in the world? A few years back, a dear friend threw an adorable Valentine's pink-themed party - filled to the brim with rosy-hued treats, cocktails, and goody bags. Absolutely delicious and silly good fun ensued. Send your pals a reminder that you have forgotten them not with some Galentine's deliveries - sweet surprises in pinks, purples, and reds! Your love will be the surprise treat we all need right about now.
dressed to impress
Of course, one must dress for the occasion, even if the occasion is inside the same four walls you've been inside since about this time last year. What to wear, you ask? Why, whatever makes you feel romantic and special, of course! Feeling fancy? Put on a dress and some heels! Want to keep it casual? Throw on a good pair of jeans and a cute graphic tee with a giant heart on it! And while you're at it, whip up a simple 'do with some hair jewelry and a spritz of good perfume. You'll love the way you feel, even if you're celebrating all on your own.
As for the ever-impossible gents? Well, if your significant other is like mine, he's a mystery who wouldn't rather be fussed over. In that case, I have a simple (and free!) solution - kisses! A few smooches should do the trick. That, and maybe sharing one or two pieces from that big box of See's. Maybe.
