Home on the Range

The newest collection has landed at Anabel Higgins and it’s all about life on the ranch.

A Ranch is a place or a state of being. It connotes an open space to run, to raise crops, grow citrus, nurture animals, or embrace nature. The air is somehow clearer at a Ranch and the overall style of the place is practical as well as stunning. I grew up on a multi-acre working lemon ranch in Riverside, California, the home of the first Navel Orange. Oranges, avocados, pomegranates, kumquats, tangerines, and grapefruit also grew plentifully. Every morning there was freshly squeezed orange juice or a half slice of grapefruit. The lemons were picked twice a year for the juice market. A heavenly orange blossom scent permeated the ranch in spring.

When I think of ranch style, I embrace jeans, white shirts, casual dresses, and loads of turquoise.  Mexican or Tribal handmade pendants or bracelets are timeless. Moreover, turquoise pendants set in gold with diamonds or colored stones fit the California mood. Pearls and strands of gold and turquoise enhance any outfit of the day. Enjoy the California Ranch collection through my eyes - custom, handmade, and curated.

Native American and Mexican silver jewelry possesses an unmatched beauty that is deeply rooted in centuries of rich cultural heritage. Each piece is meticulously crafted by skilled artisans, showcasing intricate designs inspired by nature, symbols, and spiritual beliefs. For over a year, I have sourced ranch style pieces from Santa Barbara to San Miguel de Allende, from England to Aspen and Colorado. Several of the pieces are custom-made in Los Angeles using turquoise I cut and polished in lapidary class or Persian turquoise sourced from England. To say creating this collection has been a joy is an understatement - my heart and soul are that of a collector.
