Love Abounds
Who isn’t in the mood for a little adoration right now? Let’s Get pink!
Start off with treating yourself to something decadent, like one of those raspberry macaron cakes from Ladurée. Did you know besides the charming single-serving macarons that you can also special order larger ones that can serve up to eight people? I didn't and now I have something to check off my to-do list. Yum.
My youngest is also insistent we indulge in Lunar New Year decadence, like ordering enough food so each member of the Higgins family can have a heaping plate of dim sum from Din Tai Fung. I've got my eye on a few dumplings and noodles to celebrate the occasion.
After all that eating, one does need to start thinking about burning it off. That's where a wild pup comes in handy! I love taking baby Brontë for walks around the neighborhood, the perfect way to get out of the house and breathe in some fresh air. Take in the architecture of your surroundings and take time to notice details you might otherwise ignore.
February being the month of romance, you may want to splurge on a staycation or visiting somewhere (safe) that's only a few hours away via car. Mr. Higgins and I are fans of our little secret spot in Montecito. A bungalow for a quick getaway to forget about it all, even just for a weekend. There's nothing wrong with wanting to take a break, near or far.
If a getaway isn't on your agenda, bring romance into your home by bedecking every surface is roses. Decadence is always a click away when ordering from Rose Story Farm in Santa Barbara. But if convenience is on the menu this year, hop on over to your nearest Trader Joe's and see what pretty petals they have in store for you to select from. Create the feeling you want to see every day in your home.
