I’ll Be Home For Christmas
See what’s on Annie’s mind for December 2020
Naturally, the majority of my inspiration for the month ahead stems from the best holidays of the year. If you haven't seen it, last year the Higgins home was featured in the December edition of Victoria Magazine. Bedecked in garland to the brim, we certainly had fun then and I'm determined to bring the same spirit to the house this year, albeit a simplified spirit. As long as I can channel the coziness of a Cotswolds Christmas, I will be pleased with our decorations. The tree is still a must, of course! Heirloom and antique ornaments hanging from a noble fir are an absolute necessity. This time of year is also wonderful because narcissus flowers come to life. I love draping the front porch in these white beauties, a little curative for the winter blues.
While warming my feet next to a crackling fire, I love to drift off into daydreams of one day lounging in a de Gournay adorned bathroom. A girl can dream, right? You can't not take self-care seriously in a bathroom like that. Imagine the view from the tub! Pure dreaminess. But then the gentle pops from the fire beside me snap me out of my reveries. I'm reminded to be thankful for all that I do have, a beautiful home included. I hope you'll join me this rather unconventional holiday season and indulge a little more than usual, for all our sakes.
