style in a snap

If you know someone, even if that someone is you, who happens to love the equestrian look and life, then I recommend starting with a perfect blazer, like the Ralph Lauren one above. So chic and it looks great when paired with a flowy midi skirt or light wash jeans. A blazer will never let you down, no matter the occasion. The next step would be to insure your wrists sparkle - how about the Equitation Bracelet? This is your classic club bracelet, reimagined with a genuinely unique horseshoe clasp, perfect for stacking on charms or wearing simply as is! There's no right or wrong way.

A true original you will only find at AHJ: the Equitation Clasp and Bracelet. An open and close horseshoe provides whimsy and good luck!

Of course the look would not be complete without these fabulous John Derian for Stubbs & Wootton equestrian flats.

A country Christmas wouldn't be complete without a little vintage copper and some flowers, like this pitcher from Elsie Green, based out of Northern California.

hot to trot

If you know me then you know I have a *minor* obsession with Stubbs & Wootton. They are the perfect slipper and come in so many fabrics and colors, you can't go wrong. They've recently partnered with design darling John Derian and this is my favorite pair from their collaborations (to date, at least 😉).

And while we're still on the topic of dressing for the occasion, you can't have an English Christmas without a fair isle sweater! This one from Tory Burch is ripe for snuggles and comes in the signature Anabel Higgins purple no less!

If your recipient is mad about horses, how about an antique horse painting? Of course oil paintings look great in a traditional setting, but they can look even more fabulous in a modern chic home. This collection from One Kings Lane would look great anywhere.

A lovely and perfect English country table setting from Cutter Brooks.

For whatever reason, whenever I think of the English countryside, I always think of antique silver iced tea spoons. Check out this cute set of vintage Tiffany over on Ruby Lane.

Setting a proper table is imperative for a country themed holiday (or any time, truly). I adore the shop Elsie Green, which always has fabulous decorative items for the home, like this antique copper pitcher above. A table isn't complete without a great place setting, which is where Cutter Brooks comes in! I dare you to look at their site and not buy something - a difficult feat for any anglophile!

Lastly, I love collecting antique silver tea spoons. They're so much fun to use and they have an extra flair to them that your typical spoon simply does not possess. A whimsical addition to anyone's silver collection.

For this gift guide, we're focusing our charitable efforts on Pasadena Heritage, a group that provides preservation, advocacy, and education around all of Pasadena's historical sites and homes. Pasadena wouldn't be the beacon of architecture that it is today without them. Please consider making a donation this holiday season!

Keep an eye out for our ongoing Gift Guides, happening now through Christmas Eve.
